Like you knew he would, Letterman addressed this week's Tonight Show handoff on last night's Late Show. "I'm David Letterman ... I'm still here — I knocked off another competitor!" he said in his first monologue joke, which he immediately followed up with one about how his mom planned to watch Conan. Then later, behind his desk, he sized up his new opponent: "I don't know a lot about him. Very funny guy, very smart ... I know that years ago he killed a guy."

Best of all, though, he, too, did a Jay Leno impression! And it was even better than Conan's. Click here for the audio.
