Video: All of the Non-Naked Parts of Last Night’s Shen Wei Dance Arts Performance

  • 6/3/09 at 6:00 PM

Shen Wei Dance Arts (whom you might remember from the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony) performed last night inside Ernesto Neto’s giant, interactive, multisensory Park Avenue Armory installation, anthropodino. Moving through the crowd to the eerie, dissonant soundtrack (haranguing bagpipe, violins), the dancers would appear and disappear, climb on each other, hop like agitated popcorn, and then collapse. Then, they all took their clothes off and writhed on the floor (they made us turn our cameras off for that). If you weren’t lucky enough to be there, and want to feel totally spaced out, watch this video.
