Jack White Shoots New Video, Bandmate

  • 7/13/09 at 2:30 PM

On Saturday, the Dead Weather, Jack White's latest Meg-less side project, debuted the charming video for its first single, "Treat Me Like Your Mother," on Cinemax. In it, he and front woman Alison Mosshart (day job: singing for the Kills) walk toward one another, unloading automatic weapons into each other's faces and chests in what's almost certainly meant to be some sort of metaphor about relationships or something. The stylish clip (directed by Sexy Beast helmer Jonathan Glazer) is notable for being the second music video by a crotchety rock star in just a couple of months to consist only of footage of a man and a woman committing acts of graphic violence on one another (Bob Dylan's "Beyond Here Lies Nothing" being the first — watch both after the jump). Actors who bruise easily should probably avoid casting calls for Neil Young videos for the foreseeable future.
