Former New York Times film critic Elvis Mitchell is in hot water with the IRS, which claims he owes more than $500,000 in back taxes. We sincerely hope that Mitchell, whose current gig is as a television host on the Turner Classic Movies channel, gets everything sussed out without landing himself in the pokey. But even though Mitchell is facing some money woes, we have to admit there's a part of us that thinks it's pretty cool that film critics can still make that much money! [NYP]
