Though the film has been delayed by budget problems, and Steven Spielberg has seemingly moved on to his Harvey remake (for which he now wants Robert Downey Jr. to play the lead, apparently), the director assures Variety that his Abraham Lincoln biopic will still happen someday, even in the wake of Robert Redford's announced Lincoln film: "We are very happy that Redford will be doing this Lincoln movie. It is completely different from what our DreamWorks Lincoln movie will be and we believe that it will add to the commercial potential of our film. Lincoln as a subject is inexhaustible." Also, Redford's probably won't be in 3-D. [BFDealMemo/Variety]
