Angry Nerds Revolt After Pee-wee Herman Delays New Stage Show

When Pee-wee Herman announced back in early August that he was going to be rebooting his famed stage show in California this November, did you immediately rush out and buy yourself tickets to the show, find a flight, and book a hotel room? If so, we have some bad news to share with you: (1) You’re probably a nerd, and (2) Pee-wee has postponed his show until January. While Paul Reubens is doing everything he can to ensure that he can make things right with the legions of fans who had already booked travel plans to Los Angeles — in a statement, he said “To the fans who already bought tickets, I apologize for the inconvenience of the venue and date changes and am arranging for you to come backstage and say hello!” — there are still plenty of angry geeks who are peeved that they have to pay airline cancellation fees. Lynn Margaret, an Atlanta resident, complained to the Los Angeles Times that “it feels like being stood up by someone who was one of your very favorite people, to find out they blew you off to hang out with people that are fancier and prettier and richer or something.” We hate to say it, but we’re guessing this isn’t the first time that poor Lynn has been stood up. Buck up, little camper, you’ll get to see him in January. And when you do, be sure and tell ‘em Large Marge sent ya!
