The numbers are in! The winner of the hotly contested sales race between rock legends Bob Dylan and David Archuleta, who both released near-identical Christmas-themed albums last week, is ... Bob Dylan by a nose! Dylan's Christmas in the Heart — a reverent, craggy-voiced, Vulture-approved take on fifteen holiday classics — moved an impressive 17,350 units to place at No. 31; Archuleta's more contemporary, melisma-fueled Christmas From the Heart landed at No. 32 with an also-not-bad 16,254 copies sold. We'll never know for sure, but we presume some of Dylan's sales were the result of confused Archuleta fans buying the wrong album (and vice versa). There are really no losers here, though.
