Romanian-born German writer Herta Müller won 2009's Nobel Prize for Literature this morning. Acclaimed for works like Der Wächter nimmt seinen Kamm and Der Mensch ist ein großer Fasan auf der Welt, she said in a statement, "I am very surprised and still cannot believe it. I can’t say anything more." So it's a good thing she already has the Nobel Prize for Literature. [NYT]
