The cast of Fox's new hit Glee had been set to perform atop a float at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade — until, however, NBC, the mostly hitless network on which the parade airs, found out and (reportedly!) had organizers disinvite them. This is weird, since Simpsons balloons and American Idol winners have regularly been featured in previous years, but neither network, nor Macy's, seems willing to explain what makes Glee's cast a show choir non grata. The show does air opposite NBC's Law & Order SVU, which is currently bleeding viewers in its new time slot, following a move from 10 p.m. to accommodate The Jay Leno Show, so that's thought to be a factor. We can only hope Glee's appearance was simply bumped to allow for a musical number starring Richard Belzer and Mariska Hargitay.
