Surprise! Broadway's trouble-plagued Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark will probably not begin previews as scheduled on February 25, reports the Times' Patrick Healy. According to an anonymous person involved in the production, there is "no way" the $45 million musical will enter rehearsals later this fall, owing to the money-caused problems with casting and construction on the Hilton Theater that we've been hearing about for months. No opening date has been agreed upon, but Healy says producers are hoping for one "later in spring 2010" and to expect an announcement once director Julie Taymor is able to hammer out a "realistic" rehearsal timetable. So there's probably still plenty of time to get your tickets, at least.
