The Missing Person Trailer: People, Beverages Vanish Without a Trace
When David Edelstein profiled Michael Shannon for his Oscar-nominated role in Revolutionary Road, he called the upcoming The Missing Person — in which Shannon plays an alcoholic private detective — "delightfully strange noir." Many months later, we have the trailer (complete with that Edelstein blurb), and proof that Shannon can capably portray an alcoholic: Not only does he talk very slowly, but in under two minutes, he manages to squeeze in two different drink orders. Impressive! There's also a wheeling-and-dealing Amy Ryan, a guy getting chased down for a half-a-million-dollar payout, and a pretty great deadpan delivery of the line "trouble is my middle name." Looks good to us!
