After some confusion related to an inaccurate IMAX press release, the release dates for Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro’s two-part adaptation of The Hobbit have now been confirmed by Warner Bros, with the first film due in December 2012 and the second December 2013. Though considering this project has been gestating since 2007 and the fact that there’s no firm date for production to begin, it’s anyone’s guess how long it will actually take until we can marvel at the furry-footed on giant IMAX screens.
