Wicked’s musical producer Marc Platt, book writer Winnie Holzman, and songwriter Stephen Schwartz have reportedly started to meet with filmmakers to talk about turning the Tony-winning musical into a movie. Among the contenders? Lost’s J.J. Abrams, Glee’s Ryan Murphy, and Nine’s Rob Marshall. The film will be made at Universal, which produced the stage musical. While a Lost-like Wicked sounds awesome, the Glee cast’s “Defying Gravity” performance might give Murphy a leg up. [Deadline]
