News of an HIV-infected male performer has paralyzed the adult-film industry. At least six more studios have followed the lead of powerhouses Vivid Video and Wicked Entertainment by shutting down production. There is concern that he may not be the only one infected:
AVN.com has learned from sources that Patient Zero is a male performer who performed in both straight and gay adult videos. Additionally, we received word that an undetermined number of first and second generation adult performers who may have been exposed have been quarantined at this time.
All the studios that have stopped production are considered to be more reputable, and some always use condoms. But “adult entertainer” Miko Lee captured the mood in the San Fernando Valley on her Twitter feed: “For the people who did the LOW end Porno shoots….. I’d be worried. Thank GOD I haven’t started shooting yet. This is scary stuff.”
