An anonymous porn star tested positive for HIV, according to a clinic outside Los Angeles that mainly caters to workers in the adult-film industry. Vivid Videos and Wicked Entertainment, the two biggest studios in the region (if not the country), responded to the news by shutting down production. It’s the first case in more than a year. In 2004, an outbreak led the industry to go dark for a month. Local public-health officials triggered a wave of concern and outrage last year when they revealed that there had been sixteen unpublicized cases since then.
