Happythankyoumoreplease Trailer: A Ted Mosby Joint

The immediate facts surrounding Happythankyoumoreplease — an indie that weaves a few story lines about young, attractive, and dramatically confused New Yorkers together — are certainly divisive. And those facts are: It’s written and directed by Josh Radnor, a.k.a. Ted Mosby from How I Met Your Mother; it also stars Radnor, as a writer (what sort of writer is not made explicit in the trailer); Radnor, the writer, befriends a small child; Malin Akerman, arguably not the greatest actress in the world, is in it too, and she’s definitely doing some acting; it’s called Happythankyoumoreplease. But people who have actually seen it seem to like it: Not only did it win the Best Audience Award for Favorite U.S. Drama, but our own Logan Hill gives it the thumbs-up: “Occasionally, it feels as if Radnor is skimming stones across deeper waters, but compared to most recent rom-coms, this is practically Bergmanesque.” With that in consideration, and in the general interest of positivity: The part in the trailer where the kid eats a bunch of cookies is funny.
