The Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired the documentary Becoming Chaz, the real-life story of Chaz Bono’s gender transformation and her new life as a man. In May 2010, Chaz, the child of Cher and Sonny Bono, was granted an official name change following gender-reassignment surgery. The documentary is one of several OWN has bought, though this one was snatched up in advance of next week’s Sundance Film Festival. [Deadline]
