Well, this is officially a trend: A movie about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is in early development at HBO Films. The network is in discussions with BBC about co-producing the film, based on Raffi Khatchadourian’s New Yorker story, “No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency.” The production could potentially compete with Alex Gibney’s Assange documentary and a film adaptation of an upcoming Assange biography.
