The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has made the wise, if no-brainer decision to merge the Best Miniseries and Best Made for TV Movie categories for next year’s Emmys. This decision was likely made easier by the fact that last year there were just two nominees in the mini-series category (The Pacific and Return to Cranford). So, The Pacific has the honor of being the last mini-series ever not to lose to Temple Grandin. (We won’t believe the Temple Grandin hegemony is over until we see it.)
