L.A. Comedy Club to Offer Therapy to Comedians

There is an ever-so-slim line between comedy and tragedy, and it seems that professional comedians are especially prone to crossing over to a dark place. That’s why Jamie Masada, the owner of the Laugh Factory comedy club in Los Angeles, opted to offer therapy to his comedians four nights a week. The club’s therapy program started this week, and offers free walk-in sessions at the venue. “From Richard Jeni putting a gun in his mouth and blowing himself up to Greg Giraldo taking drugs and overdosing, I just can’t stand to watch all of my family, one by one [self-destruct],” said Masada.
