Can Director Craig Gillespie Reanimate Pride and Prejudice and Zombies?

Much like, well, a zombie, Seth Grahame-Smith’s 2009 parody novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies keeps coming to life, dropping dead, and then clawing its way back out of the grave at Lionsgate. Now we hear it’s in search of fresh brains once more: Our spies tells us that Craig Gillespie, helmer of Showtime’s The United States of Tara and 2007’s indie drama Lars and the Real Girl, is in talks to direct. (Recently, writer-director Mike White exited the project, which David O. Russell had been toying with before he decided to adapt the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.) Ironic horror is becoming Gillespie’s calling card; he recently wrapped a remake of the 1985 classic Fright Night for DreamWorks Pictures that’s due out in August.
