If there’s any movie genre that can compete with Hollywood’s comic-book obsession, it’s the burgeoning craze to adapt children’s classics that began when Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland made over a billion bucks. And so it is that Channing Tatum and Alice producer Joe Roth are out pitching Peter Pan Begins, a revisionist, big-budget take on the famous story in the mold of Red Riding Hood, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, Snow White and the Huntsman, Oz the Great and Powerful, and all the rest. (We’re guessing that Tatum won’t play Peter Pan himself, because he’d make Wendy will herself to grow up, like, immediately.) What’s next? Jennifer Lawrence as Goldilocks?
