David Milch and Michael Mann have divvied up responsibilities for their upcoming horseracing series Luck, and it’s a setup that neither is particularly accustomed to, though both say they’re happy: Milch gets final say on all the writing, and Mann gets final say on everything else. The two notorious control freaks reached the agreement after an embattled pilot process — even HBO admits “there were clashes,” and Mann banned Milch from the set. But apparently they were able to put a stripe of masking tape down the middle of the room because the two released a joint statement, saying, “We decided — as two men who have been around for a number of years — we ought to be smart enough to figure out a mechanism that would enable us to work together to our and the series’ benefit. And we did.” [HR]
