Graduating Glee Actors Might Not Leave After All

Lea Michele.

A week and a half ago, Glee boss Ryan Murphy was promising major cuts to the musical drama’s cast after next season, promising that after their characters graduate, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer are “not going to be back at all for Season 4.” Today, though, executive producer Brad Falchuk pulled a bit of an about-face at Comic-Con. “Here’s the exact thing: They are seniors, so they’re graduating,” Falchuk said at the show’s panel, “but because they’re graduating doesn’t mean they’re leaving the show. If you have Lea Michele under contract, you don’t say, ‘We’re gonna let you go.’” But you do say that to Chord Overstreet: Though the show offered to keep him on as a recurring character after declining to make him a regular next season, Falchuk says the actor has declined and will be moving on.
