Making the rounds of YouTube is one sharp-eyed viewer’s “proof” that a highway chase scene in Michael Bay’s new Transformers: Dark of the Moon was lifted from the director’s 2005 clone flick The Island, updated with rampaging Decepticons, of course. While not exactly plagiarism, more like reappropriation of one’s own work, seems like Bay has a real eye for cutting corners — movie blog /Film reported back in 2007 that aircraft carrier footage in the original Transformers was the same used in Bay’s 2001 historical timepiece Pearl Harbor.
