Deadline reports that Disney has pulled the plug — at least for now — on the Gore Verbinski–directed The Lone Ranger, a period Western that would have reunited Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter on the big screen. Budget woes marked the film’s downfall; Disney has struggled to bring the movie’s costs down from at least $250 million.
