Now that George Lucas has sent out review copies of the Star Wars Blu-ray collection, it seems clear that his current round of tweaks wasn’t just limited to a computer-generated Yoda in The Phantom Menace. Badass Digest’s Devin Faraci brings word that two notable changes have been made to Return of the Jedi, and while one of them is fairly minor — the Ewoks blink now — fans are up in arms about the second, more major change: In the climactic scene where Darth Vader turns on the Emperor and throws him to his death, the formerly silent Vader now moans “Noooo” twice. (You can get a sense of the change in the above video, which lays a leaked audio clip of the new dialogue over the original scene.) It would appear to be a callback to Vader’s famous “Noooo” from the end of Revenge of the Sith; what Lucas may not have been aware of, though, is that the Sith “Noooo” is only famous because fans love to make fun of it.
