Adele appeared on British gabber The Jonathan Ross Show this past weekend, and she confessed that she hasn’t written any new music in months. (She did admit that she ended a short relationship in May, “But no way is that boy getting a record about him. No way.”) Still, there is one light at the end of the tunnel: “I’m going back in the studio in November, fingers crossed.” But not to record an album,” she said. “This is actually a theme, what I’ve got to do. Wow, I’m really giving something away … It’s one song.” Ross hummed the James Bond theme, and Adele demurred, but she also cackled, looked generally secretive, and gave him a real suspicious “Don’t say James Bond” face. Admittedly, she might be recording, like, the closing credits love theme for Battleship, but would that require all the subterfuge?
