It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, returning tonight for its seventh season on FX, has birthed a number of musical treasures over the years: There’s “Day Man,” of course, from the rock opera Nightman Cometh; Charlie and Mac’s performance of the Ferris Bueller song, better known as “Day Bow Bow”; and this truly moving cover of Boyz II Men’s “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.” But what of the show’s subtler musical triumphs — say, for example, the symphonic range of Charlie Day’s yelling?
