Director George Sluizer has announced plans to release Dark Blood, the 1993 film that Phoenix was filming at the time of his death. The movie, about a recluse who lives on a nuclear testing site, was left unfinished, and footage from the shoot has never been made public. Sluizer hopes to cobble together a final product with reedits and a voice-over from River’s brother Joaquin Phoenix. Says Sluizer, “The voices of the two brothers are very much alike.” [THR]
