While “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving” might sound like a lost MAD TV sketch, it is in fact an actual television special, conceived and directed by the singer, to be shown on ABC on Thanksgiving day. There will be no shortage of Gaga-gian theatrics, including live performances of her biggest hits and a sit-down interview with Katie Couric, filmed at Manhattan’s Sacred Heart Catholic School, Gaga’s alma mater. In the true spirit of the holiday, however, there will be also be performances of songs like “White Christmas,” and an appearance by celebrity chef Art Smith. Presumably, Gaga knows that giving her fanbase a holiday alternative to endless televised football is something they’ll all be thankful for.
