Ever since he controversially hosted the last edition of the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais hasn’t been able to stop talking about it, whether he’s still justifying his sharp jabs at A-listers, mulling over whether he wants to return, or threatening to assemble a live podcast to run alongside the actual broadcast. Now the Hollywood Foreign Press has given Gervais more grist for the mill: He’s officially been tapped to host next year’s show, his third Golden Globes ceremony in a row. “Just told Billy Crystal he’d better not use any of my holocaust or pedophile material at The Oscars,” Gervais tweeted just now. “He agreed (true).” All the HFPA has to do is justify nominations for notorious Gervais targets Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie. The award hopes of The Rum Diary and In the Land of Blood and Honey just got a little brighter!
