The list of Zooey Deschanel love interests on New Girl grows yet again, this time expanding the upper age-limit to 48: Dermot Mulroney will appear on multiple episodes come springtime as a “handsome, intelligent, and wealthy gentleman” whom Jess falls for, even though he’s the father of one of her students, TV Line reports. Justin Long, Ryan Kwanten, and now Dermot Mulroney — that’s a lot of love interests so far this season, especially given that everyone knows Nick is Jess’s one true love, and also given that the focus of the show doesn’t seem to be (nor should it be!) Jess’s love life.
