This could be very interesting, or very … interesting: Louis C.K. and former Seinfeld writer—late night host Spike Feresten are creating a half-hour sitcom for CBS. The two men, who worked together on both Saturday Night Live and the Dana Carvey Show, have written a multi-camera comedy which will revolve around a group of creative twentysomethings trying to make it in a difficult economy. CBS has green-lit production on a pilot for the as-yet untitled half-hour. Given the off-beat comic brands of both writers (Feresten wrote the “Soup Nazi” episode of Seinfeld and also worked on Space Ghost Coast to Coast), it might seem odd this ended up at CBS, which is known for broader sitcoms such as Two and a Half Men. But the Eye does try to stretch its comedy muscles every so often (think How I Met Your Mother). By the way, Feresten, most recently the producer on Carvey’s failed 2010 attempt to return to sketch comedy, is a busy man these days: He sold a single-camera comedy pilot script to Fox last month.
