At last night's Screamfest '07 tour stop at Madison Square Garden, Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent, T.I., and Diddy (along with several other miscellaneous rappers who ostensibly hate each other) made hip-hop history by performing onstage together. That's all well and good, but isn't there supposed to be a beef on? 50 and Kanye, you should be ashamed of yourselves!

In a video interview today with OnSmash.com, 50 Cent states unequivocally, "Of course I'll outsell [Kanye West]." Then he preemptively makes excuses for why he might not: He's less famous in America than he is overseas, his rhymes are just too complex for feeble-minded U.S. record buyers, and, even if he does sell more albums than Kanye, West's label, Def Jam, will probably commit fraud anyway (also in on the plot: Amazon.com, Linkin Park, and the Beastie Boys).

A few minutes ago, blogger Miss Info posted this picture which purportedly shows the aftermath of 50 Cent's alleged "rampage" in the offices of his record label. We were ready to point out the many reasons why we think it's a fake — if the plasma screen was mounted to the wall, then why is there a TV stand on the floor? Also, how was the bicycle involved? — but we think blog commenter Bushwick Pure says it best:

Despite his demanding last week that the network perform fellatio on him, 50 Cent sat down with MTV News yesterday to confirm that he is, in fact, a lunatic, and also to go back on his promise to quit recording solo albums if his forthcoming record is outsold by Kanye West's on September 11. We're sure this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that his Curtis is currently losing to Kanye's Graduation on Amazon's sales rank charts.
