‘Sex and the City’ Takes Over NYMag.com

Courtesy of New Line Cinema

Wondering where all Vulture's coverage of the Most Important Movie in the History of New York is? Sure, we've explained why Mr. Big will die, introduced you to Samantha's humpy dog, and speculated about what physical torment men would suffer to skip the movie — but nymag.com's other blogs, especially Daily Intel, have flooded the zone in their coverage of Carrie and her gal pals. (Want proof? Check out the file name of the photo to the left to see how our shared photo editor feels.)

Don't miss the video of gals (and guys!) before and after last night's midnight showings at Kips Bay. Plus, they polled basically every single person who saw the movie last night, asking them questions like "Are you a straight guy?" and "Why are you here then?" Daily Intel has also investigated whether poor people like Sex and the City too, how Cynthia Nixon has become the movie's gay-publicity weapon, Bloomberg's secret pain, and Steve's secret shame. Over at the Cut, nymag.com's fashion mavens have weighed in on whether SATC is to blame for young professionals' dressing trampily at the office, and interviewed legend Patricia Field about her favorite SATC outfits. And even Grub Street has gotten in on the action, with a slideshow of cupcake porn — luscious pastries whose rich curves far outstrip those of SATC favorite Magnolia.

Seriously, What Is With the Osmond Obsession?

Photo: Getty Images

We're totally with our buddies at Daily Intel on this one. Why the hell does anyone care about an Osmond reunion? Look, we agree that "Soldier of Love" was a bangin' track, but come on, people, give us a reunion we actually care about, like New Edition.

Barack Obama Has Terrible Taste in Movies

Over at Daily Intel, they've discovered the unlikely source for Barack Obama's catchy catchphrase about red states and blue states: Robin Williams's 2006 comedian-becomes-president turkey Man of the Year. If you're gonna steal a line from a movie, why that movie? We would expect better from a guy who claims to love The Wire.

We fully expect Vulture hero Mike Huckabee to start screaming "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE!" in upcoming debates.

Elizabeth Hardwick and Pimp C, Together in Death As We Wish They Had Been in Life

Photos: Getty Images

Thanks to our fine partners at Daily Intel for this illuminating comparison of the Times obits of New York Review of Books co-founder Elizabeth Hardwick and UGK MC Pimp C. We like to imagine them standing next to each other this morning in the line at St. Peter's maître d' stand, making small talk.

Daily Intel has a lovely remembrance of the longtime Times architecture critic by New York's Justin Davidson. It's a must-read.

McCarter to Pogue: ‘Quit Your Day Job!’

Photo: NYTimes.com

The inquiring minds over at Daily Intel have been giving lots of love to Times tech columnist David Pogue's "iPhone: The Musical," in which the writer and his band of merry iPhone-lovers celebrate the joys of the tech-obsessed world's gadget of the moment.

Today, they've enlisted New York theater critic Jeremy McCarter to chime in with a review of the musical-theater masterpiece, in which McCarter points out that the third "volunteer" to pop up in the video is none other than Broadway player Chester Gregory (Tarzan) and urges Pogue to quit his day job, explaining, "You'll go out there a tech columnist, but you'll come back a star."

Vulture's First and Only Post Dedicated to the Paris Hilton Saga

Penitent in pink: Paris Hilton on Larry King.Photo: Courtesy of CNN

Perhaps you heard? Paris is out of jail, and she's capitalizing on the moment by asserting her saintly desires to do everything short of joining a nunnery. And though she's not an actress, singer, or possessor of any kind of evident creative talent (despite her camp's claims to the contrary), you can be excused for having at least a vague interest in the frenetic media goings-on regarding her release. It will likely affect her unleashing of misguided cultural detritus in the future, after all.

With that in mind, check out what the always-entertaining Fug Girls had to say in their live-blog of Hilton's interview with Larry King. You won't be disappointed. —Sara Cardace

Edit: Of course, this isn't the only post in Vulture history on Paris Hilton. There's also our, um, most-read post ever, for obvious reasons.
