Duffy Gives Regis a Geography Lesson

Photo: Getty Images

1. Duffy, "Mercy" (live on Regis and Kelly) Regis welcomes "America's newest sensation … all the way from Wales!" In fairness to Mr. Philbin, though, she did steal all her moves from Motown. [Music Slut]

2. Weezer, "Heart Songs"
From Weezer's recently leaked, not-very-good new album, here's very possibly the worst song Rivers Cuomo's written since all the ones on Make Believe. [Idolator]

3. Alphabeat, "Digital Love" (Daft Punk cover)
The affable Danes cover DP's fifth-best song with an acoustic guitar and a tambourine (synthesizers are expensive). [Stereogum]

The Cure's Triumphant-ish Return!

Photo: Getty Images

1. The Cure, "The Only One"
The good news is, on this new song, the Cure sound just like they did during their commercial peak. That's also the bad news. [Burros y Perros]

2. The Rapture, "No Sex for Ben"
This new Timbaland-produced track from the GTA IV soundtrack is awesome, even if your name happens to be Ben. [Hyperbole]

3. Bun B feat. Lupe Fiasco, "Swang on 'em"
Bun B and Lupe rap about fast, tricked-out cars on this song from Bun's upcoming record. The production makes it sound like they're riding around in a Ford Model A with Elliot Ness in hot pursuit. [Attorney St.]

N.E.R.D. Encourage Your Social Ineptitude

pharrell williams

Photo: Getty Images

1. N.E.R.D., "Spazz"
True to their acronym (Nobody Ever Really Dies), N.E.R.D. are back to let us know "We ain't going nowhere," with this slippery fun house of tight beats and fuzzy low-end. "Spazz if you want to," they say. We bet you'll want to. [HotBiscuits]

2. Sad Kermit, "Needle in the Hay" (Elliott Smith cover)
ScarJo isn't the only movie star angling for a side career covering depressing rock songs. You may remember Kermit's version of NIN's "Hurt," which showed him battling an addiction to heroin. Now, he's contemplating suicide while shaving, Richie Tenenbaum style. It's increasingly less easy being green, apparently. [Fabulist]

3. Tokyo Police Club, "Tessellate (Tom Campesinos! Remix)"
Tom, of the supercute Welsh band Los Campesinos!, tries to prove he has a tough side by adding lots of crashes to this newish TPC track. It almost works. [Ryan's Smashing Life]

Usher Would Appreciate It If You Bought Dinner for Once

Photo: Getty Images

1. Usher, "Trading Places"
In this leaked track from Ush's upcoming Here I Stand, he switches roles with his girlfriend, asking her to take him on a date and "order Chinese food right before you do me." [Boss Blue Music]

2. Lindsay Lohan, "Bossy"
On Lohan's new track she claims, "If I want it, then I get it — now." Mink-wearing club kids can probably back her up on this one. [Beeb Blog]

3. Rolling Stones, "I'm Free (DJ Shadow Chase Bank Remix)"
First came the Nokia promotion, and now we find that Shadow took a crack at remixing the Stones for Chase, but they ended up using another version in the commercial. Does it count as selling out if they pay you for doing nothing? [Party Ends]

Lil Wayne Saves Bun B $10 Million

Getty Images, WireImage

1. Bun B feat. Lil Wayne, "Damn I'm Cold"
Bun B returns with an excellent new track that just might make him a lot of money. Fortunately, Lil Wayne is on hand to provide some practical advice for the newly rich: "Never marry Robin Givens." [Panda Toes]

2. She & Him, "Change Is Hard" (live)
M. Ward and Zooey Deschanel swing by the Late Late Show for a pretty excellent performance, which is probably your best chance to see them play live since movie stars don't sleep on couches or ride in vans (we're still holding out hope for ScarJo, though). [Culture Bully]

3. Hot Chip, "Wearing My Rolex" (Wiley cover)
Hot Chip get covered in grime when they try on Wiley's "Rolex." It's not as gross as that sounds, though. [Pitchfork]

Even Liam Gallagher Is Right Twice a Day

Photo: Getty Images

1. Oasis, "Stop the Clocks"
Scratch demos for three new Oasis tracks (this one, "Nothing on Me," and "I Wanna Live in a Dream in My Record Machine") hit the Internet today, proving wrong our theory that all their songs are made up on the spot. [Maybe Here Now]

2. Elvis Costello, "Stella Hurt"
From Elvis's excellent new album, Momofuku, this "Foxey Lady" copy almost makes up for the opera he wrote. (He'll have to rip off "Crosstown Traffic" to make us forget about that album with Burt Bacharach, though.) [Stereo Jealousy via Rock Daily]

3. The Hood Internet vs. Lykke Li
How good is this mash-up? So good that, just this once, we'll break our strict rule against posting mash-ups above the jump. [Hood Internet via Idolator]

Nelly Goes West

Photo: Getty Images

1. Nelly, "Bay"
Nelly follows generations of pioneers (or E-40, anyway), making the arduous journey from St. Louis to San Francisco (or Oakland, at least) in this tribute to the Bay Area. It's getting hot in herre, but it's a dry heat. [Cocaine Blunts]

2. J Dilla, "Trucks"
On this previously unreleased track, Dilla takes Gary Numan's "Cars" — a spooky social critique of the isolation of technology and consumerism — and uses it for the basis of "Trucks," a song about how awesome trucks are. [Nialler9]

3. Britney Spears, "Something More"
An unreleased Britney track has surfaced, and as nobody's sure whether it's a new song or just an outtake, we can be certain of only one thing: It's terrible. [Pretty Much Amazing]

Santogold Holds it Down

Photo: WireImage

1. Santogold, "Your Voice"
RCRD LBL just dropped this non-album track by Santogold, which finds her not so much puking gold glitter as exhaling golden chill-out ganja fumes. Pretty sweet. [RCRD LBL]

2. Pharoahe Monch, "Broken Heart"
Monch's girl left him just before he was "ready to deliver the ring, just like Frodo the Hobbit." But with tracks this good, he can walk tall. [Passion of the Weiss]

3. The Chap, "Carlos Walter Wendy Stanley"
What we assumed would be a song about the gender-switching composer of the Clockwork Orange soundtrack is instead about ... something else. But the music has identity problems in the best way, sounding like Momus mixed with Morricone.
[Pinglewood]

T.I. Boldly Attempts to Rock

Photo: WireImage

1. T.I., "No Matter What"
With his last identity crisis behind him, T.I. moves on to another one with this new single, whose rock organs, guitar, and spacey sound effects make us wonder if he's trying to unleash his inner rock star. [Nah Right]

2. Stereolab, "Three Women"
Stereolab stopped sounding experimental enough to warrant their moniker sometime around the turn of the century, but this brand-new track (off their new album, Chemical Chords, due in August) still isn't bad. [Some Velvet Blog]

3. Feist, "I Feel It All" (live on The Colbert Report)
Feist and Colbert do a little cross-dressing (and flirting!) before she launches into a typically amazing version of her current hit. Political satire is rarely this cute. [Culture Bully]

Save $300 Plus Time-Machine Development Costs: Listen to Prince's Coachella ‘Creep’

1. Prince, "Creep" (Live at Coachella)
Every year we think the plane tickets and $300 admission to Coachella aren't going to be worth it, and then we find out something like this happens. But even if we won't get any of that desert sunshine, with the Internet, we can at least bask in a little faded glory on our iPods. [Deaf Indie Elephants]

2. The Roots, "I Will Not Apologize"
The Roots tricked us all into thinking that "Birthday Girl" was going to be the first single from their new record, but now it isn't going to be on the album. But as you can tell from this actual (and awesome) song from the album, we shouldn't expect much contrition. [Mixtape Maestro]

3. Free Kitten, "Seasick"
Noisy feminist supergroup Free Kitten (featuring members of Pussy Galore, Sonic Youth, and Boredoms) is back after a decade with a song about a spiteful lady pirate. This is the best news we've heard all day, aside from Prince's Radiohead cover, of course. [Pitchfork]

4. George Benson, "Turn Your Love Around (Database remix)"
This track is the first to be released from Buffetlibre's new eighties remix project. Kudos to the label for daring to shine light on the music of a lost era. [Lemur Blog]

5. Kidz in the Hall, "Drivin Down the Block (remix feat. Bun B, Pusha T, Clipse, and the Cool Kids)"
The "z" lets you know these guys aren't aging Canuck comedians, so you get more chicken heads than Chicken Ladies. Still, 30 Helens agree that this is a great remix of their new song. [Get Weird Turn Pro]
