Blooming Forth

No spring season is complete without flowers. But designers are going beyond the usual floral print and instead using appliqués or, more ingeniously, molding the outfit into a flower shape. With his admired layering, Thakoon made sleeves into rose petals on gowns and dresses. Rodarte went appliqué-mad, turning a dress into a walking bouquet. The fairest flower of them all was Marchesa. The collection was chock-full of blossoms: two dresses — one bright pink, one white — had bodices shaped into roses.
