Volume: The Golden Ticket

Designers clearly had Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory on demand this season: Oompa-Loompa-inspired dresses loads of volume at the hip and nipped in at the legs have been prevalent on the runway. Karen Walker's blue dress with sweet ruffles and a bow tie added a feminine touch to the classic characters. VPL's gray number with a pale green jacket sophisticated the look with a touch of Crockett and Tubbs. And we can easily picture Veruca Salt demanding Sass & Bide's gold-and-black dress. We don't recommend wearing it down the garbage chute.
