Louis Terline, co-owner of the Brooklyn boutique Oak, took time away from the tents to share his favorites from the week so far. What’s he looking at for next fall’s inventory? He likes Betsey Johnson’s hot shorts, Yigal’s rich fabrics, and Marc by Marc’s leather dresses.

Betsey Johnson
Betsey Johnson is New York fashion royalty. She consistently maintains the youthful energy her line was based on. The archival pieces were inspiring reminders of how fun fashion can be. The suede high-waisted hot shorts and fur jacket are a spot-on trend for the season.

Yigal Azrouël
I’ve been impressed with Yigal for a few seasons now, but he really seems to have hit his stride in both his men’s and women’s collections. The fabrics were rich without being busy, and he found a way to do color in a very New York way, with muted tones layered on top of each other. Chunky knits and supersoft cashmeres are mixed with draped jerseys and boiled wools — I know how I’m dressing next fall.

Marc by Marc Jacobs
Marc by Marc looked great. His usual muse seems to be a little darker this season, with a little more edge. The leather dresses and belted oversize sweaters are a downtown classic that I am glad to see making a comeback. I personally want an “Off the Deep End” T-shirt.
