ASME Snubs Fashion Mags; Acne Jeans Opens in Soho

• Fashion magazines were largely shut out of the National Magazine Awards, nominees for which were announced yesterday: W received two nods, for general excellence and photography; Elle earned a nod, for essays; and Vogue was altogether shut out. Ouch. [WWD]

• Stockholm-based Acne Jeans is opening flagships in New York and Paris today. The New York location is at 10 Greene Street and is the company's first store outside of Europe. [WWD]

• Peaches Geldof is designing a capsule collection for London-based label PPQ. Geldof has previously modeled for the label, of which Agyness Deyn is a fan. [WWD]

• Simon Doonan's memoir, Nasty: My Family and Other Glamorous Varmints, is being turned into a comedy series for British television. It will include moments from Doonan's life, like the time he was arrested in L.A. wearing plaid bondage Vivienne Westwood pants. We've all been there, right? [WWD]

• Makeup artists are the new celebrities. They've been rising to fame since the nineties, when actresses started replacing models on magazine covers and readers just had to know how to get Halle Berry's glowing cheeks. [NYT]

• Cathy Horyn likes young Italian label 6267 because its clothes are well tailored and well made, which is increasingly underappreciated these days. [NYT]

• Power couple Les Moonves and anchor Julie Chen get their hair done at Frederic Fekkai together. Nothing says romance like a good blowout. [NYP]

• Keith Richards's daughter Alexandra has left Next modeling agency for Wilhemina. [NYP]

• Heather Mills and ex-hubby Paul McCartney make some very poor fashion choices, which you'll see in this slideshow. [Guardian]
