Gwyneth Paltrow's Image-Makeover Strategy Is Working

Gwyneth, you must be happy as a clam this morning. It seems your up-to-there hemlines have achieved the image makeover you longed for. The press are just smitten by you. Or at least the Daily News is. The paper raves about how Paltrow dons seven-inch heels "as if they were Easy Spirits" and has become the poster girl for fall's hottest looks:
Paltrow has used her super style to make a pair of stilettos and minidress not seem trashy.

"She's wearing fashion-forward, outrageous dresses and taking huge chances. But she still looks elegant, and the fashion industry respects her," says [Mary Alice] Stephenson of Paltrow's leggy looks by Jean Paul Gaultier, Balmain and Stella McCartney.

Maybe the key to her fashion success lies in her Clark Kent–style duality.

"In the Estee Lauder campaign, she's holding puppies and sleeping in a field. You never thought of Gwyneth as supersexy, but there's an edge to the look she's created for this premiere. She's really owning her sexiness," says Stephenson.

Congrats, Gwynnie! Showing your upper thighs to reinvent yourself totally worked! But maybe you should remind people of your Oscar instead of your admittedly gorgeous legs? Just sayin'…
