Diesel owner Renzo Rosso has acquired a controlling stake in Viktor & Rolf. Rosso owns Only the Brave, which also controls Maison Martin Margiela, Sophia Kokosalaki, Dsquared2, and manufacturing and distribution of Vivienne Westwood. Rosso said in a statement, "Ever since the beginning of their career, Viktor & Rolf have tickled my curiosity for their unbelievable out-of-the-box creativity." Yes, they've tickled us, too! Rosso added he was in talks with the label for two years before a deal was finalized. Designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren said, "We admire Renzo Rosso's unconventional nature and the success it has brought him. We decided to join forces with him because his motto 'Only The Brave' appeals to us. True creation requires courage." (See image at left.)

So what does it all mean? Viktor & Rolf can expand. And Renzo Rosso just got a whole lot cooler.
