A T-Shirt for a Cause

We've seen jumpsuits and sheer pants and sequins and you name it. But the trend that's caught our eye is the one the designers are wearing. Anna Sui, Nanette Lepore, and Maria Cornejo sported "Save the Garment Center" tees at the close of their shows in the hopes of raising awareness of the zoning-law changes that allow landlords to push factories out and luxury lofts and hotels in. Which would be très disastrous for fashion — no buttons, zippers, trim, etc. Or at a much higher cost. The shirt is designed by Sui and Yeohlee Teng on behalf of the CFDA in a campaign they hope gets attention. Let's hope it works.
