After casting directors passed on Indian beauty Lakshmi Menon last February, she finally sashayed down New York runways for Alexander Wang and Lacoste yesterday. (She looked blazing in Wang's pink neon blazer.) But Wang played it safe and relied on established runway stars Raquel Zimmermann and Lily Donaldson to open and close his show, respectively. Alexandre Herchcovitch was conservative too, opening with Daiane Conterato and closing with Bruna Tenorio. Familiar face Chanel Iman opened the leather-loaded Rock & Republic show. We loved to see Brazilian mommy Isabeli Fontana show off her womanly curves to open and close Rosa Cha. Between the Vogue-sponsored after-party and all the buzz around designer Amir Slama's new Soho store, Fontana took Saturday.
