Face Time: New York’s Spring Beauty Trends

Wondering where all the color went on the runways? Oh, hey, we know! On faces! The New York shows counteracted all the flesh-hued clothes with some bright, fun makeup. At Jill Stuart, each model's face was dolled up in periwinkles and roses. Pastels also showed up on the lavender-glossed lips at Sari Gueron and the metallic, pastel peach mouths at Zac Posen. Tuleh, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, and Thakoon focused on a red, pouty lip. And the ever popular smoky eye made an appearance at Alexander Wang and Yigal Azrouël. Some shows went for more dramatic looks: Zero + Maria Cornejo opted for geometric-shaped face paint, and Diesel painted on blue eyebrows. Think it's too much fuss? Scratch it! Because the easiest look of all was at BCBG, Tommy Hilfiger, and Marchesa: bare faces (or just made to look so). To see all of the spring 2009 makeup trends and more, click ahead for our slideshow.
