Two Models Fall, Many Stumble at Prada

  • 9/24/08 at 11:48 AM

Poor, poor Prada models. Two fell on the runway in the Milan yesterday. Many more stumbled. Critics cited the rickety footwear as a giant distraction from the clothes. Miuccia Prada guessed the sky-high snakeskin platform heels were so slippery because models wore them with little socks. The Telegraph reports:

“I was having a panic attack, my hands were shaking. The heels were so high,” one of the models said. “Some of the girls were crying backstage they were so scared.”

One girl fell after a tailspin and earned applause when she finished her walk carrying her shoes. During the finale, one model stumbled so badly she shuffled backstage, unable to recompose herself. And remember — these girls are tall so it's a long way down. To see a video of the runway show including the carnage, click through.
