Christie's unveiled highlights from the late, great Yves Saint Laurent's private art collection, which could fetch from $290 to $440 million at auction. Over 700 pieces will hit the auction block in February, including modern works by Picasso, Matisse, and Mondrian and even a Roman Minotaur sculpture that dates back to the first or second century. All proceeds from the auction will benefit a new foundation Saint Laurent's partner, Pierre Bergé, has created to fund AIDS research and the Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. Christie's will hold a viewing of the works in New York November 5-7. [WWD]
