Aquascutum to Be Sold; Designers Party in Anna Wintour’s House

• Renown Inc. has confirmed rumors that it will sell its Aquascutum label. They don't know whom they'll sell it to or how much they'll charge for it, but they're warning the label's losses will be way up through the fiscal year ending in February. Takers? [WWD]

• Anna Wintour hosted a cocktail party at her West Village home for the ten finalists of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, including Alexander Wang and Richard Chai. Each designer had to create an outfit for a date inspired by a different species of butterfly, L'Oréal eye shadows, and an evocative word. [Fashionologie]

• Topshop is opening seven stores in Japan over the next three years. Judging by the progress on the one store they're opening here, we'd guess three years really means 23 years. [WWD]

Helmut Lang's first solo art exhibit, "Alles Gleic Schwer" (which translates to "Everything Equal Heavy"), features mixed media and sculptures made out of mahogany and tar and is now viewable online through November 2. [JC Report]
