Bill Cosby–esque sweaters have made a resurgence in menswear stores across the city. We're talking bright, bold, bulky things that would make you visible from five miles away in an Arctic blizzard. We noticed these frightening overthings last fall in Williamsburgian log-cabin-like restaurants and drinking establishments, but this fall they've infiltrated Manhattan. Now stores from the Lower East Side to Soho are channeling Cosby in ways we thought had been long buried in 5:30 a.m. time slots on network television.
